About:
Luke Celenza grew up surrounded by music and began studying classical piano at age 5. Jazz caught his ear early and by age 12 he was accepted into the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College Jazz Division. Later, he received a Silver Award from the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts and became a Presidential Scholar in the Arts performing for President Barack Obama. In 2010, he attended The Juilliard School where he studied privately with jazz greats Frank Kimbrough and Kenny Barron. Upon graduating in 2014, Luke collaborated with his brother, Frankie Celenza on what would become a 5-time NY EMMY® Award-winning cooking show entitled “Frankie Cooks”. Luke also has two jazz albums available on all digital platforms. The first is a quartet record entitled “Back and Forth”, and the latest, entitled “Emanuela” was released on December 13th, 2019 and is a piano trio album.
Luke holds a Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School in Jazz Studies, as well as a Master of Music from Berklee College of Music’s Graduate Film, TV, and Video Game Scoring program in Valencia, Spain.
Since 2021, he has assisted Argentinian composer Joaquin Garcia on over 10 films and TV shows with production teams from all over Europe, the U.S. and the U.K.. Most recently, Luke co-composed an upcoming documentary chronicling the 2024 Wimbledon Tennis Tournament, which will air before the 2025 tournament globally.
Luke has contributed tracks to music libraries, and written music for games published to Steam.
Currently Luke is working on Piano Quintet music (String Quartet + Piano) slated for release in 2025, from which one piece has already been choreographed by dancers of The Juilliard School.
Luke is proficient with several Digital Audio Workstations including Cubase, Logic, and ProTools. He is equally at home engineering a live classical ensemble, as he is performing in a jazz orchestra. With his diverse skill set in recording, mixing, performing, editing, orchestration and more, he is a valuable asset to any production across a range of genres.
Luke currently resides in New York, where he is a freelance composer, producer, engineer, and musician.
